All manuscripts must be original and have not previously been published or be under consideration for publication by another journal. Additionally, the document should not have been submitted to any other journals. Research is refereed in secret by double Blind Review, in which all authors’ and reviewers' data is deleted upon refereeing, and confidentiality is observed in not informing reviewers concerned with the refereeing of the papers.
Misconduct: The editors of the CJMSS take every precaution to spot, catch, and prevent any instances of data fabrication, authorship abuse, falsification, image manipulation, unethical research, plagiarism, biased reporting, duplicate publication, and undeclared conflicts of interest.
Fabrication, Falsification, and Image Manipulation: CJMSS journal uses cutting-edge image processing systems to identify, detect, and prevent data fabrication, falsification, and image manipulation. With the exception of those situations where image editing is required, in which case authors must explain how the manipulation was accomplished. If it is discovered that the results of submitted manuscripts or published articles, including the modification of photographs, were faked or falsified, the authors may face penalties, and the publications may be withdrawn.
Plagiarism: The CJMSS journal makes every effort to verify that manuscripts are original work and avoid any plagiarism and duplicate publication activities. The use of another person's words, figures, or concepts without giving due credit is prohibited. Reuse of language must be kept to a minimum, credited, or quoted in the text, and all sources must be cited when they are used. The CJMSS journal employs Turnitin or Crossref Similarity Check to identify contributions that cross-reference previously published and submitted works. If a manuscript is discovered to have been copied from another author's work (Plagiarism more than 20% in all or 5% from each reference), whether it has been published or not, it will be rejected, and the writers may face penalties. Any articles that have been published may need to be updated or retracted.
Duplicate submission and redundant publication: CJMSS journal make every attempt to identify, detect, and prevent concurrent or duplicate submission to ensure that all submissions are not being published elsewhere. If such behavior is discovered, the CJMSS journal takes rigorous action and imposes fines against the authors, including the removal of their papers from the website. Manuscripts submitted to the CJMSS journal must be withdrawn before being submitted elsewhere and cannot be submitted elsewhere while being reviewed. Sanctions may be imposed on authors whose articles are discovered to have been simultaneously submitted elsewhere. If authors base a submitted manuscript on their own previously published work or material that is presently being reviewed, they must reference the earlier articles and explain how their submitted research differs from their earlier work. The authors are responsible for seeking permission from the copyright holder before using any of their own words or figures in significant numbers.
Sanctions: According to CJMSS journal policies for handling unethical activity, the following harsh action is taken if any violations of publication ethics or professional norms are found:
▪ A warning letter to the author covering the misconduct.
▪ Immediate rejection of the submitted manuscript.
▪ Probation period is applied to all responsible authors regarding any further submission to SASAR journals.
▪ Probation period is applied to all responsible authors regarding serving as referees/reviewers for SASAR journals.
▪ Formal retraction or withdrawal of a publication from the journal.
Editors and reviewers as Authors: The CJMSS journal adopts clear policies and processes to keep editors and reviewers out of decisions on publishing when they are authors.
Conflicts of Interest “The authors declare no conflict of interest.” Authors must identify and declare any personal circumstances or interest that may be perceived as inappropriately influencing the representation or interpretation of reported research results. Any role of the funders in the design of the study; in the collection, analyses or interpretation of data; in the writing of the manuscript; or in the decision to publish the results must be declared in this section. If there is no role, please state “The funders had no role in the design of the study; in the collection, analyses, or interpretation of data; in the writing of the manuscript; or in the decision to publish the results”.
Authors: Authors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest in a section titled "Conflicts of Interest", along with an explanation of the potential conflict. The authors should declare that there are no conflicts of interest with regard to the publication of this paper if there are none. Coauthors' declarations of interests are the responsibility of the submitting authors.
Editors: Editors and reviewers should decline to be involved with a submission when they
Reviewers: Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest in the "Confidential" area of the review form, where the editor will take them into account. If editors or reviewers have spoken with the authors about the article in the past, they must disclose this.
Copyright: The website for the CJMSS journal provides a comprehensive explanation of copyright and licensing (in the guidelines for authors). Authors acknowledge that their work is unique and is not being submitted to another journal when they submit an article for publication to the journal. By submitting a paper, the authors immediately consent to grant SASAR exclusive copyright in the event that the manuscript is accepted for publication.
